چکیده

Introduction: Risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) is increased in patients with cancer owing to various pathophysiological mechanisms that generate prothrombotic state. Lymphoma are well known be at significant risk for VTE development. Recently, non-O blood type was associated and it has been proposed as time-dependent predictor group patients. The aim the study examine ABO a factor development lymphoma. Methods: A total 600 lymphoma (newly diagnosed relapsed) have included study. All treated Center, Clinic Hematology, University Clinical Center Serbia. Data regarding events collected all study, from time diagnosis 3 months after last cycle therapy. determined prior treatment initialization through standard institutional procedure. objectively based on radiographic studies, clinical examination, laboratory evaluation. Results: median patients' age 57 years (range 18–89 years); 55.5% were males. majority newly (88.8%). distribution following: indolent NHL 140 (23.3%), aggressive 366 (61%), Hodgkin 94 (15.7%), respectively. rate 10.3% (62 patients), highest (7.7%, 46 patients). before specific hematological initiation 46.8% patients, whilst 53.2% commencement. most common our (41.6%), followed by O (33.3%), B (15.8%) AB (9.3%), There no statistically association between (p = 0.495). Logistic regression model demonstrated pre-treatment (odds ratio [OR] 3.19, confidence interval [CI]: 1.03–9.88, 0.044). ABO blood group as a potential risk factor for venous thromboembolism in acutely injured patients.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a major health problem that results in a significant burden on hospitals and patients. VTE screening and prophylaxis protocols in trauma patients vary significantly among hospitals and providers. In addition, many patients develop VTE even in the absence of "high-risk" categories. Therefore, more research is needed to better understand and prevent VTE in these pa...

Race, ABO blood group, and venous thromboembolism risk: not black and white.

BACKGROUND The rate of venous thromboembolism (VTE) has been reported to be higher in blacks compared to whites. Non-O blood groups have also been associated with a significantly higher VTE risk. Given that a higher proportion of blacks have O blood group, one might have expected that black individuals would have fewer VTEs. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS In this study, we analyzed race, sex, age, ...
